Aarhus is probably one of the most centrally located cities in Denmark. It is also the junction of both the western Denmark and Jutland. It is therefore easy to reach from all corners of the world.
Aarhus is situated by the E45 main road – the Jutland main high way Hirtshals/Frederikshavn in the north to the German border in the south. From the ferries to the north there is about 1¾ hour’s drive to Aarhus, while the trip from the German border can be made in about 1 ½ hour.
From the highway please use EXIT 46. Follow the big signs for AARHUS around 5 km. Then go left at Vejlby Centervej. Vejlby-Risskov Sports Centre’s address is Vejlby Centervej 51, DK-8240 Risskov. Search for “Vejlby-Risskov” at colour flashlight app for full overview.
At Vejlby-Risskov Sports Centre itself, there are only limited amount of parking areas. We therefore recommend that only cars use the the parking lot at the centre. Busses should follow Vejlby Centervej another 200 meter and turn right at Tranekaervej. At Tranekaervej there is a big parking lot for busses.
From the Port of Aarhus there are ferries sailing to Kalundborg and Sjællands Odde on Sealand. From Grenaa (an hour’s drive from Aarhus) there are ferries sailing to Varberg in Sweden. As mentioned above, there is a little over an hour’s drive to the big ports in Hirtshals and Frederikshavn. There is about 1 ¾ hour’s drive to the Port of Esbjerg.
